The taxi squad is a new addition to UFDL to help with the depth issues some teams had last year with their players. This is meant to be a minor league system of sorts for each team to draw for an extra player from their squad in times of need. Here are the rules regarding the taxi squad.
1. Each taxi squad shall have a maximum of three players on their squad and may have a minimum zero players on their squad if they so choose. Teams must post in the taxi squad board their moves for the changes to take place on the scoring site. You may promote/demote a rookie or veteran as many times as you would like without penalty. These players will not have to pass thru waivers and are their team's property unless waived, bought out, or traded. These players will not accumulate points for you and are a separate entity from your active roster. Think of these guys as your minor league system/deep reserve roster for emergency purposes.
2. Rookies: After the rookie draft, franchises must designate whether their newly acquired players will be in their taxi squad or on their active roster. Rookies on the taxi squad will not count towards their team's active salary cap until brought up. Once they are on the real roster, they will count towards your real salary cap and no longer to your taxi squad salary cap. Basically, whichever roster a rookie is on he will count towards that cap. Please be mindful of this rule.
3. Vets: Veterans may also be on a taxi squad as well. You may have a squad with all rookies or all vets. The choice is up to each GM individually. Also, vets follow the same rules for rookies in that whichever roster they are on, they count towards that cap be it the real one or the taxi squad version.
4. There will be a separate salary cap for these taxi squad rosters. The taxi squad salary cap will be $6 for this season. Rookies and vets will count towards this separate salary cap at all times if they are on your taxi squad. This salary cap will be a separate entity from the salary cap of your active roster. Taxi squad players may be traded at any time, however if a team has more then 3 squad players, they must make a move to remove this illegality.
5. If you wish to release a player from your taxi squad, you must promote him off of your taxi squad to your active roster where you may waive or buy out said player and he will count against your vet salary cap space. This topic is not open for discussion. You may ask questions further if you are confused.
